I'm not sure what I'm in love with more...food, people, or cooking/providing for them. I'm a bit of a hedonist, so I'm gonna say all 3. If you wanna hang with me for a personal, intimate dining experience, we'll have fun-I promise. ~Samantha
One could say I strive to be an epicurean, but I do believe in balance. For me, the art of pleasure is subjective.. although, it's very much rooted in food, the earth, and people. As a child, and a Canton, Ohio native, I was raised with a family of avid diners, who also loved to come to the table with great conversation..philosophy, music, art, food, great books, and history were all fondly remembered topics. As I came into my own, food always played a huge role in my life. A means to sustain, yes, but also a creative outlet of expression for me..it's one of my love languages. Cookbooks became my favorite books to read, restaurants became my favorite places to go and chefs became some of my most favorite teachers. Either being behind the scenes of the restaurant business, front of house, studying the culinary arts, and/or cooking for most of the years of my life, it has naturally become my lifestyle, my passion, and my purpose. I find myself through creating dishes that nourish and inspire, heal myself through continuous study and nature's gifts, value myself more through the journey of facing fear, self doubt, and Life's "shit storms". Mindset is one of the most coveted tools for navigation, and I think we all can align with the value of believing in yourself.
When our world was presented with an interesting turn - Covid-19, I was working
in a local, independently owned restaurant. When we shut down, and personal time became more available, my thoughts, and burning desire to make some kind of change were more prevalent than ever. I was ready to take my life to the next level of intimacy...but I was scared as hell. That fear became the driving force for my motivation. I knew what I needed to do..and it wasn't beyond my capacity. My love for food, intimacy, and people go hand in hand and doing my part in creating connection is my little piece of peace. Being a "personal chef" allows me to bring people together, create an atmosphere of trust, and present food as medicine and love. Are you ready?! Let's Eat!
